Scape and Run: Parasites is a Mod by Dhanatry that adds increasingly dangerous evolving enemies called Parasites. In RLCraft, their spawning is limited to The Lost Cities (Dimension).
Parasites
Behavior
- They attack any non-parasite entities, turning them into parasites after their deaths
- This applies to players as well
Properties
- Parasites are weak to fire, but adapt to other sources of damage, eventually becoming immune.
- It is possible to reset immunity by dealing fire or lightning damage. It is advisable to use the Fire Aspect enchantment due to its synergy with Ash Destroyer and the Parasite's weakness.
- They have more health than average mobs.
- They have copius amounts of defense and armor.
- This can be bypassed with Rune: Piercing Capabilities or Rune: Arrow Piercing.
- Some Parasites such as the Yellow Eye can fly.
- The flying parasites that can fly can also see through invisibility. Because of this, it is advisable to run away from them when running invisibility builds.
Fear
- Higher ranked parasites can inflict a Fear effect that cannot be negated by the the
Ankh Charm/
Ankh Shield or the Teddy Bear baubles.
- Loss of player control includes right click functions, making escaping using
Warp Scrolls or
Ender Pearls futile
- The only effective way to counter it is by wearing a full set of Silver Armor, which has low armor and durability. In Dregora Silver Armor was nerfed and lost this quality, and instead, the Teddy Bear was buffed to block Fear.
- Defensive measures are recommended, including Undying Quality Baubles, Resistance IV and a full set of Advanced Protection IV, Unbreaking IV and Advanced Mending
Spawning
- Parasites spawn in The Lost Cities (Dimension).
- In Dregora, they spawn in the Underneath and Parasite Biome too.
Parasite Spawners
- There are Parasite Spawners in all buildings
- The most common ones spawn Assimilated Endermen (basically parasite ninjas), Assimilated Villagers or Primitive Yelloweyes.
Beckons
- Similarly to Parasite Spawners, they spawn Parasites, but of tiers increasing with time.
- Once a Beckon evolves to Tier 4, they begin spawning other Beckons instead, in a potentially endless recursive process.
- Beckon spawning rings a bell sound effect.
Tips
- It is recommended to destroy Beckons as fast as possible to avoid getting overrun
Trivia
- A player returning where they died to a Parasite is likely to find an assimilated player with their name
