Myrmex Chitin
Myrmex Chitin is an item from Ice and Fire. It has two types: Desert and Jungle Myrmex Chitin. The two types are functionally identical, only differing in how they(and the items they are made with) look.
Usage
Tools, Weapons, and Armor
Myrmex Chitin can be used to make tools, weapons, and armor. These items also often require Witherbones instead of Sticks. They have more durability than their Steel or Silver counterparts, but much less than their Diamond counterparts.
Tools
Myrmex Chitin tools have the same prowess as Diamond ones.
Weapons
Myrmex Chitin weapons have less base damage than even their Wooden counterparts, but they deal extra 4 damage against non-arthropods and Deathworms. Practically, their damage is higher than Iron(or even Diamond) in most situations.
Myrmex Stinger Weapons
Myrmex Chitin is required to make Myrmex Stinger weapons.
Armor
Myrmex Chitin armor is on par with Diamond armor in terms of protection, but has less durability. Wearing a whole set of Myrmex Chitin armor will also give you the ability to step onto jump-height blocks without having to jump.
Other
Myrmex Chitin is required to make Myrmex Staff and Insect Saddle.

Myrmex Chitin is dropped from Myrmexes.
