Automation

Animals Eat Floor Food Animals that have a breeding food assigned to them will eat it from the floor at any time they can have it fed manually, provided the food is nearby. (only works with vanilla animals)
Chain Linkage When right clicked onto a boat or minecart, and then onto another, they'll link the two. Linked boats and minecarts will always remain at close distance, which allows you to make trains.
Chute The Chute is a new automation block. Items can be inserted into it via automation (Hopper, Dropper, etc), and any items inserted are instantly dropped under it, always precisely in the center.

The Chute can be disabled with a redstone signal or by placing a block under it.

Dispenser Records Dispensers can play records if there's a Jukebox directly in front of them. If there's already a record in the Jukebox, it gets placed back in the dispenser.
Ender Watcher The Ender Watcher is a new redstone input block. It emits a full redstone signal if a player is looking directly at it.
Metal Buttons Combining a Wooden Button with either an Iron Ingot or a Gold Ingot creates a button of that type.

Drawing influence from Weighted Pressure Plates, Gold Buttons emit a very short pulse (2 redstone ticks), whereas Iron Buttons emit a very long pulse (5 seconds).

Obsidian Pressure Plate Pressure Plates made with obsidian will only trigger when Players walk over them.
Pistons Push and Pull Items Pistons can push dropped items to make them fly! Sticky Pistons can't do this, but they can pull the items back.
Rain Detector The Weather Sensor works like a Daylight Sensor, but it emits a full redstone signal if it's raining or snowing.
Right clicking it inverts its output.
Redstone Inductor The Redstone Inductor is a new redstone circuit piece, made with Stone, Redstone, and Magma Cream. The output value of the inductor is the sum of all 3 input sides.
The inductor may also be locked by having a repeater or a comparator pointing to it. While locked, it'll maintain its output value regardless of any changes on the sides.
Redstone Randomizer The Redstone Randomizer is a new redstone circuit piece~.

Whenever the Randomizer receives a signal from the back, it'll enable either the left or right output, randomly.

Sugar Block As a standard storage block affair, you can craft a Sugar Block with 9 Sugar.
The Sugar Block will fall like sand and gravel. Furthermore, if a Sugar Block is next to water, it'll simply dissolve and turn into air. I'm sure you can come up with some cool uses for this.

Building

Bark Block Log-type blocks with the log "bark" texture on all sides. Can be turned into walls.
Carved Wood Carved Wood is a cornerstone type block for wood.
Chared Nether Brick Charred Nether Bricks bring a slate-like tone for a dark but not black block. They can also be used for stairs and slabs.
Duskbound Block Purple looking blocks, fully featured with stair, slab and wall variants.

Also includes Duskbound Lamps.

Framed Glass Great for some more rustic or medieval builds.

You can also craft Panes with these, of course.

Hardened Clay Tile "Tile" style blocks for Hardened Clay and all colors of Stained Clay. They can all be turned into stairs and slabs, and look great for roofs.
Iron Plate Iron Plates can also be turned into stairs and slabs.
Magma Brick Similarly to Magma, these shine but don't emit light. Magma Bricks are also available as stairs and slabs.
Midori Block Midori Blocks are a green counterpart to Purpur.

Midori means "green" in Japanese.

More Sandstone (Red) Sandstonewas begging for more variants, so now we have Polished Sandstone and Sandstone Bricks. Polished Sandstone is crafted with a square shape of Sandstone, whereas Sandstone Bricks are crafted with the standard brick recipe using Polished Sandstone. Of course these recipes are the same for Red Sandstone.

Polished Sandstone can be used for slabs, whereas Sandstone Bricks can be used for slabs and stairs.

Polished Netherrack A red block for nether-ish style building, with a chaotic textured brick variant. Includes stair, slab and wall variants.
Polished Stone Looks like the top of the Stone Slab texture on all sides.
Quilted Wool Quilted Wool comes in all colors and has a framed design.
Sandy Bricks Bricks with a sandy tone. They can also be used for stairs, slabs, and walls.
Snow Bricks Snow Bricks, for all your igloo and winter wonderland needs. They can also be used for stairs, slabs, and walls.
Soul Sandstone Sandstone made of Soul Sand. All recipes are as expected.

Soul Sandstone can be turned into Stairs, Slabs, and Walls.

Stained Planks Dyed Wooden Planks of all 16 colors, featuring a pastel color palette so you can actually build with them without making your eyes hurt! All include stair and slab variants.
Sturdy Stone A hard stone block. The block has the Furnace Texture, and can not be moved by Pistons.
Sugar Cane Blocks These can be turned into stairs, slabs and walls. You can also turn them back into Sugar Canes, if you want.
Thatch Thatch is created with Wheat. It can be used for stairs and slabs or turned back into Wheat.
Turf Turf Blocks can be crafted using a few bits of Tall Grass.

These blocks have the grass texture and coloring on all sides, are available in stair and slab variants, and do not decay when a block is on top.

Vanilla Stairs And Slabs Stairs and Slabs for a bunch of vanilla materials: Stone, Granite, Diorite, Andesite, End Bricks, Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Dark Prismarine, Red Nether Bricks, Moss Stone, and Mossy Stone Bricks.
Vanilla Walls Walls for a bunch of vanilla materials: Stone, Stone Bricks, Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Sandstone, Red Sandstone, End Bricks, Purpur, Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Dark Prismarine, Bricks, Quartz, and Mossy Stone Bricks.
World Stone Bricks Stone Bricks for Granite, Diorite and Andesite. All of them can be used for stairs, slabs, and walls.
World Stone Pavement This block is inspired by the Portuguese sidewalks, and is awesome for that very purpose.

Client

Improved Mount HUD While on a mount, your food display is still shown. Furthermore, while on a Horse, the jump bar is only shown while holding down the jump key, the XP bar is shown otherwise.
Improved Sign Edit The Sign interface is replaced with a new one using standard text boxes. This lets you use everything you can do on any other text box in the game, such as copy/paste, use selections, move your cursor, etc.
Additionally, 3 new buttons are added: Clear, Shift, and Cancel.
Items Flash Before Expiring 10 seconds before an item would despawn, it starts flashing in and out.
No Potion Shift Prevents Potion Effects from shifting your inventory to the side.
Render Items in Chat Whenever an item shows up in chat, you can see a little preview of it!

Decoration

Blaze Lantern The Blaze Lantern is the fire equivalent of the Sea Lantern.
Block of Charcoal It's a Block of Charcoal. Made with 9 Charcoal. Not sure what you expected here.

Similarly to Netherrack, this block retains fire.

Colored Flower Pots Flower Pots can be combined with a dye to change their texture to that of the respective Stained Clay variant. All functionality remains the same.
Colored Item Frames Item Frames can be combined with any Dye to color them. All functionality remains the same.
Flat Item Frames Item Frames and Colored Item Frames can be placed on floors and ceilings. The top of the frame is oriented north in both cases.
Glass Item Frame Crafting an Item Frame with Glass Panes makes a Glass Item Frame. The frame itself will not render while an item is inside, and items inside render a bit larger than a normal Item Frame.

Some items will display differently on these frames. Shields will be a bit larger, and thus at a 1:1 scale. Banners will be scaled down to be square, and usable as wallpaper.

Grate The Iron Grate is a cool new block with multiple uses. Animals are afraid of walking on it, and will never do it, whereas items will just fall through the gaps.

Players, monsters, and other entities will just walk through normally.

Iron Ladder They work like normal ladders, except that they can stand by themselves as long as there is an Iron Ladder on top of them.
Leaf Carpet Leaf Carpet can be made with all types of leaves in the same recipe as wool carpet. It can be harvested by hand and has no collision box.
Lit Redstone Lamp Combining a Redstone Lamp with a Redstone Torch creates a Lit Redstone Lamp, that's always emitting light.
More Banner Layers Banners in survival are now allowed to have up to 16 layers, up from vanilla's amount of 6, which allows for more complex banner designs.
More Banners New banner motifs can be made using Dragon Heads, Eyes of Ender, Iron Swords, and Iron Chestplates, alongside the chosen color of dye.
Nether Brick Fence Gate A Fence Gate made of Nether Bricks.
Paper Lantern These have a model that connects seamlessly to fences so you can make cool looking lights .

You can also combine a normal lamp with a sapling to make the decorated one with the tree in it.

Paper Wall Paper Walls use the "pane" look, which lets you make fancy oriental style buildings. Thanks to the new 1.9 change that makes standalone panes look like poles, they can also be used to make makeshift "tiki torches".
Paper Walls come in three variants. The variant with a tree in it can be made by crafting the big one with a sapling.
Place Blaze Rods Blaze Rods can be placed like a normal rod. They have no special properties, other than looking cool and giving off light.
Tallow And Candles In an attempt to make Pigs be useful in any way, they drop Tallow. Candles from Quark are disabled in RLCraft. You can use Tallow to make candles from other mods.
Tie Dences Right click a Lead onto a Fence to tie the Lead to it, after this just right click on another fence to make a connection. This allows you to use the fence look at will without needing mobs.
Varied Bookselves You can now make Bookshelves out of all wood types. All of these bookshelves work for the Enchanting Table too.
Varied Buttons/ Pressure Plates You can now make Buttons and Pressure Plates out of all wood types. They act exactly the same to the oak wood counterparts.
Varied Chests This allows you to make chests of all wood types. It also adds a recipe to make 4 chests at once, using 8 wood logs of the respective type in the same donut pattern.
Varied Trapdoors This allows you to make trapdoors of all wood blocks rather than just Oak.

Management

Better Craft Shifting Shift-clicking an item in your inventory in the crafting table interface will move it to the crafting grid, and not the hotbar.
Chests in Boats Right clicking a Chest onto a Boat adds the chest in as a passenger. To access the chest, simply enter the boat and open your inventory, just like you would for a horse. To remove the chest (and the items inside), break the boat.
F to Switch Items Pressing F on an item in the inventory swaps it with your off-hand item, just as if you'd pressed F outside of the inventory. This uses the same keybind used for that purpose.
Link Items To Chat Pressing Shift+T (or whatever your Chat key is set to) while looking at an item in an inventory links that item to chat. Other players can hover over it to check it out.

Miscellaneous

Ancient Tomes Adds Ancient Tomes to the game.
Wither Ash Wither Ash is a new drop from Withers and Wither Skeletons. Regardless of light level, monsters may not spawn on top of Wither Ash, or on top of blocks that have Wither Ash under them.
Runes Runes are a rare loot item from dungeons. They can be applied to enchanted items in an Anvil, and doing so changes the color of the enchantment glint from purple to the color of the rune. These come in all 16 colors of the spectrum. They can also be crafted into Spectral Silk with a Disintegration Tablet
Extra Potions Adds some new Potions.
Map Markers Combine an Ink Sac with a Map to add a marker to where you're currently standing.

Note: Markers can't be removed, so plan wisely.

Snow Golem Player Heads Named Snow Golems equipped with a Pumpkin will drop a player head with the same name as theirs, if killed by a Witch.
Note Block Interface Note Blocks get an interface when right clicked. A piano button layout shows up where you can set the note that the block will play. If you prefer the vanilla clicks system, you can click the note block icon to mimic that behaviour, and each note button has the amount of clicks needed under the note name.

Other players will hear you using the interface, and the piano keys are all keybound, so you can use it to play songs ingame, if you want to!

Note Block Mob Sounds Note Blocks with heads attached to their side will emit the respective mob's sound instead of a note.

The mob sound's pitch is based on the note block pitch.

Parrot Eggs Feeding a Parrot Beetroot Seeds has a chance for it to start making an egg. After a few minutes, the parrot will pop out a Parrot Egg, which you throw like a normal egg to get a guaranteed parrot of the egg's color.

The color of the egg that is produced depends on the color of the parrot laying it. Every parrot can lay every color, but it's much more likely you'll get an egg of the same color. There's also a secret parrot added...

Place Vanilla Dusts Glowstone Dust and Gunpowder can be placed just like Redstone.

Glowstone will just emit some light (same level as Torch(es). Gunpowder can be ignited, either by using a Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge on it, or by having some Fire show up adjacent to it. Gunpowder works as a fuse, by default spreading the flame two blocks every second. Placing Gunpowder on Netherrack makes it go twice as fast.

Poisonous Potato Usage Feeding a baby animal a Poisonous Potato has a chance to poison it for a few seconds. A baby animal that has been poisoned by this method will never grow into an adult.
Soul Powder When right clicked it'll create a spirit, which will fly in the direction of the nearest Nether Fortress.
Throwable Dragon Breath Bottle of Dragon Breath can now be thrown. Upon impact, they'll randomly replace some Stone Blocks around the impact point with End Stone.

Tweaks

Armed Armor Stands Armor Stands placed by the Armor Stand item will have arms.
Blastproof Shulker Boxes Shulker Boxes are now blastproof, having the same blast resistance as Obsidian.
Chickens Shed Feathers Chickens shed Feathers periodically, similarly to how they lay Eggs.
Convert Clay Blocks To Clay Clay Blocks can be converted into the Clay item via crafting.
Dirt To Path Right clicking Dirt with a Shovel will turn it into a path block.
Double Doors Open Together Double Doors open together when right clicked.
Dye Any Wool Any color of Wool can be dyed into another one, instead of just White Wool. You can also dye 8 blocks of Wool at once.
Endermen Anti Cheese Endermen can now destroy blocks to get to the player.
Jump Boost Step Assist Having Jump Boost II on your character will allow you to go up 1 block high gaps, like Horses can.
Knock On Doors Left clicking a Door with an empty hand will have you "knock". This makes a bit of a louder sound than if you left clicked any other block, but nowhere as infuriating as opening and closing it.
Minecart Block Placement Right clicking a normal Minecart with a block that can go in it (Chest, Hopper, etc) will turn the normal cart into that type of cart.
Right Click Sign Edit Right Clicking a Sign lets you edit it.
Shearable Chickens Chickens can be sheared. Doing so has them take 1 damage and drop 1 Feather. You can do this as many times as you want while the chicken doesn't die. Chickens that have been sheared will not drop feathers upon death.
Sheep Armor Sheep that have Wool also have a bit of armor added to them, making them take less damage.
Slime Blocks Bounce Off Sides Slime Blocks will now bounce entities that hit them from the side rather than just the top. Furthermore, items will also bounce on them.
Squids Ink You Upon being attacked, Squids will release some ink, which inflicts Blindness on nearby players.
Stackable Items A few items can now be stacked.
Villagers Pursue Emeralds Holding an Emerald Block causes nearby Villagers to follow the player, much like animals do for food items.
Sponges Dry In Nether Placing a Sponge in the Nether will cause it to dry out without needing fuel.

Vanity

Boat Sails Right clicking a Boat with a Banner adds it as a Sail. The sail is decorative only and is dropped when the boat is destroyed.
Dyable Elytra The Elytra can be dyed with any of the 16 dyes. You can dye it as many times as you want.
Dye Item Names Combining an item with a dye in an anvil has the item's tooltip name take that dye's color. This costs 3 levels.
Witch Hat Witches have a rare chance to drop their hat on death.

Aside from being an awesome fashion accessory, the hat provides leather level armor, high enchantability and a built in 50% resistance to potions of harming from witches.

World

Archaeologist Archaeologist Villagers will rarely install themselves in the walls of caves. You'll know you're close to one when you start hearing the classic "Hmmmm" sound effect.

These villagers trade in bones and other items they use in their expeditions. Additionally, you can buy their hat! Wearing an Archaeologist Hat has a chance for any ores you mine that can be affected by fortune to drop one additional item, so put the hat on before mining those diamonds!

Basalt Basalt spawns in the Nether in large clusters. It works like the overworld rocks (Granite, Diorite, and Andesite), and the recipes for it are similar.
Big Mushrooms In Swamps Big Mushrooms of both types will generate in Swamps.
Ender Biotite Ender Biotite is a renewable ore that does not spawn naturally. Clusters of it will, instead, get scattered across the main End island when an Ender Dragon dies.
Naturaly Spawning Blazes Blazes spawn naturally in the Nether. You won't get a lot of them, but they're definitely there to make the nether a bit more perilous.
Broken Nether Portals Broken portals may spawn around the Nether. These portals always spawn with enough obsidian around for you to reconstruct them. Who knows what's on the other side?
Buried Treasure Treasure Maps can be found on Temples and Strongholds. These are special maps with an X on them. Travel to that X to uncover some buried treasure (a chest with Dungeon loot).
Cave Roots Cave Roots will now spawn on the walls of caves. These blocks look like dried vines, but you can't climb them.

Breaking the roots has a chance to drop a Cave Root item, which you can eat, but takes longer to. There's also roots with flowers on them, which will drop Sprout items, that can be turned into Dyes. You can harvest the root blocks with Shears. Roots will grow downwards, and potentially create more Sprouts, if left in an area with light level dark enough to spawn mobs.

Crabs Adds a new Mob (Crab) to the game.
Crystal Caves Crystal Caves are rare underground scenery pieces. The caves will spawn with 2 (out of 8) colors of Cave Crystal block and a bunch of ores. The Cave Crystal blocks are a light source and look cool!

They can be used to craft Colored Runes.

Fairy Rings Adds a new Structure to the game (found in rarely in Forests and Plains). You can find one of four ores (Emerald; Diamond; Silver; Heart Crystal) by digging in the center of the ring.
Foxhounds Adds a new Mob (Foxhound) to the game.
Underground Clay Clay generates in patches underground, similarly to Dirt, albeit less often.
Monster Boxes When spelunking around caves, you may find Spawner-like Monster Boxes in your way. This block will "ignite" when you get close to it, and will quickly spout out a small batch of monsters before destroying itself. This adds a small and momentary challenge to break up the pace of caving.
Nether Fossils Fossils will randomly spawn in the nether's lava lakes.
Nether Obsidian Spikes Obsidian spike structures will now generate in lava lakes in the nether. These are mostly just decorative, but there's a rare chance for one to be extremely tall and spawn with a Blaze Lantern. If you mine under the lantern, there will be a Blaze spawner and some fortress loot.
Nether Smoker Nether Smokers are a new block which will spawn uncommonly on the border of lava lakes in the Nether. These blocks emit a bunch of smoke, which you can use for decoration to create chimneys or smokestacks.

Nether Smokers will not emit smoke if there's a solid block directly above them. Furthermore, creating a 1x1 chimney surrounded by solid blocks, from the smoker block upward, will cause the smoke to propagate. Combine these two with a piston and you can turn the smoke off at will on your chimney.

Pathfinder Maps Cartographer Villagers will now sell Pathfinder Maps of various biome types, which point to the closest biome to the villager carrying them. Unlike other trades where every variant is present, any given Cartographer will only stock only a random assortment of these, which expands as they level up.
Pirate Ship Adds a new Mob (Pirate), a new Structure (Pirate Ship), and a new Helmet (Pirate Hat).
Revamp Stone Gen Diorite, Granite, and Andesite will now spawn in really large, uncommon clusters, rather than all over the place in small bits. Furthermore, four new stones are added to the mix: Marble and Limestone, as well as Jasper and Slate. These last four can be used for anything the first three can.
Speleothem Speleothems (commonly known as Stalactites and Stalagmites) will generate in caves and the Nether, in all stone type variants. These can be harvested only with Silk Touch (or crafted, if you want), and can grow up to 3 blocks high.

If you break the supporting blocks, the rest of the structure falls apart, which is actually really satisfying to do.

Stoneling Adds a new Mob (Stoneling) to the game.
Tree Variants New type of tree will spawn in your world:
  • Blossoming Trees will spawn in a small frequency in mountain biomes. These trees have Birch wood, and always spawn looking like a big oak tree. They have pretty pink leaves you can use in your builds, and naturally, you can get saplings of them.
Undergound Biomes Underground Biomes are uncommon spawns in mid level underground, spawning based on their respective overworld biomes. There are currently 9 underground cave styles you may find.
Varied Dungeons Adds new types of "vanilla" Dungeons.
