Useful Materials and How to Find Them

This page is a work in progress, intended to help readers find sources of various useful materials that may not have obvious straightforward methods to acquiring.

Blaze Rods

These drop from Cinders, Xaphans, and other Fire-related Lycanite mobs.

A good way to spawn Cinders is just to take a flint and steel/matchbox and create a huge fire, since they spawn where there is fire. Just be prepared for a fight, because if you create too much fire, too many Cinders might spawn. If you kill to many Cinders, an Argus might spawn, so be sure to check for them if you are gonna farm cinders.

(Also, remember that two different elementals can fuse to create a high level elemental)

Glowstone

Killing Wisps and Abaias is a decent way to get a starting amount. Wisps can be found around the surface over world in direct sunlight, playing catch with another Wisps.

They aren't hostile unless you attack them. The ball they throw does hefty damage, so be careful. Abaias are found in rivers, lakes and rarely while fishing. They aren't strong but they do paralyze you, so be careful to not get paralyzed in water, or you might drown or be killed by water creatures!

Ender Pearls

Usually Grues, Darklings, and Banshees drop Ender Pearls. If you stay in the dark for long, a message will appear telling you are likely to be eaten by something. Stay in the dark and a Grue, Darkling, or Shade will appear, so they can be farmed with relative ease. Banshees spawn in Mineshafts (any area with Cobwebs, Rails, and Planks in the same area).

Slimeballs

Many Lycanites Mobs that spawn in the Defiled Lands drop slime. It's relatively dangerous though.

Xaphan, which spawn when lava and water are mixed, can be killed as a source of slimeballs.

Additionally, slimeballs are occasionally dug up from dirt once the Treasure Hunting perk is acquired.
