Variant System
The Variant System is a mechanic in the Lycanites Mobs mod that causes mobs to infrequently spawn with higher stats and a different colour pallete. The different colours are Lux (white), Dark (black), Ashen (gray), Russet (Brown), Scarlet (red), Verdant (Green), Azure (Blue), Golden (yellow), Violet (purple) and Keppel (turquoise).
Notes
- Tamable mobs with a variants can be tamed as normal and will keep their variants after being tamed.
- You can summon mobs with a variants as long as you have level 2 knowledge of the mob being summoned.
- This has no effect on the stats of the summoned mob, however.
- The bosses Rahovart, Asmodeus and Amalgalich can have variants like any other mob.

Some mobs have miniboss variants. Miniboss variants appear different to regular variants due to the fact that each of them looks unique and changes are intentional rather than pallet swaps. Each of these variants is much more powerful than the base mob, and each of them are summoned with altars. All miniboss variants drop a Soulstone.
